And so you handed over a canvas to me,
to paint a picture of eternity in your mind
Is it like I have to touch your soul?
and some magic will trigger my hand
to ripple-off some colors on canvas,
painting some unknown creation,
– the best amalgam of You and Me!
My every step covers exactly
the footmarks left by you on sand,
may be
– a trial to know your soul,
– a venture that I love to play,
– or a heart desire into which I have plugged myself!
Whatever it is, I felt my enigma going,
up above making me to cross my horizon.
But there lay some unknown endless, an eternal time,
between step of yours
and step of mine to cover you!
Do you still believe I know you?
May be Yes, I guess!
You handed over a canvas to me,
to paint a picture of eternity in your mind
– to paint love!
I will keep all my fancies in my palm
and will toss them up into the air
without the fear of fall
with a hope that you will catch!
A stroke of some imagination
-Dance starts when soul imagines
A stroke of some desire
– Love comes when soul desires
A stroke of part of me and part of you
You and Me in the serenity-Alone!
“- Love comes when soul desires” hey this was lovely
Neilina – Thank You! 🙂
Great poem. Reminds me a little of a Celine Dion song called Color of My Love:
I’ll paint my mood in shades of blue
Paint my soul to be with you
I’ll sketch your lips in shaded tones
Draw your mouth to my own
I’ll draw your arms around my waist
Then all doubt I shall erase
I’ll paint the rain that softly lands on your wind-blown hair
I’ll trace a hand to wipe out your tears
A look to calm your fears
A silhouette of dark and light
While we hold each other oh so tight
I’ll paint a sun to warm your heart
Swearing that we’ll never part
That’s the colour of my love
I’ll paint the truth
Show how I feel
Try to make you completely real
I’ll use a brush so light and fine
To draw you close and make you mine
I’ll paint the truth
Show how I feel
Try to make you completely real
I’ll use a brush so light and fine
To draw you close and make you mine
I’ll paint a sun to warm your heart
Swearing that we’ll never part
That’s the colour of my love
I’ll draw the years all passing by
So much to learn so much to try
And with this ring our lives will start
Swearing that we’ll never part
I offer what you cannot buy
Devoted love until we die
I am thinking why I didn’t write “I am walking besides Him, taking my step side-by-side”? Can’t this create the best creation! Really, was ‘He’ not knowing that she is following Him! Not even once, ‘He’ told her to come and join the journey, rather He gave one canvas to paint love! What kind of love is it?
May be the journey of the girl in the poem is only –
a trial to know ‘Him’
a venture that she loves to play
or her some desire!
If she gets love, in whatever form…either walking besides, behind or after him and if this makes her happy, nothing can be more important than this!
